Keys to Weight Loss Discussed

Thursday 24 December 2009 @ 10:27 pm

For some weight loss is achieved faster with hypnosis. Some people say it feels like magic because it is so easy to make powerful changes. Weight loss is not an easy process. If you want to look more beautiful and slimmer, you need more than just perseverance. Weight loss is a given, but other changes have been freeing. Weight loss is simple, burn more calories then you consume. If you can fully understand that then you are on your way to losing weight. Weight loss is extremely difficult when you feel like you are depriving yourself. Instead of being a positive and exciting experience, losing weight becomes a struggle against yourself.

Additionally, women who want to lose weight fast that skip meals actually lower their metabolism. That means their body needs fewer calories and overeating leads to gaining fat faster. Therefore, you shouldn’t ry to lose weight by dieting alone.
Are you ready to lose weight? Do you want to learn the secrets to finally shed your excess body fat while keeping your hard earned muscle? The only way you can lose weight and keep it off is to get your natural fat-burning mechanisms functioning normally and at peak efficiency again. The healthy way to weight loss is to lose excess fat, not lose muscle tissue and water. Crash diets can help you lose weight quickly, but most people gain the weight back. Some of these diets are also unhealthy and dangerous.More…

Stop Letting Food Control Your Life

Sunday 20 December 2009 @ 10:23 pm

The fact is whether we are eating too much or too little are nation is obsessed with food. Walk down the street, open a magazine, talk to a friend, go on any site on the internet- both food and ironically weight loss methods are visually thrown at you. When I was a child, I was put on a diet. I didn’t understand what I had done wrong - I was so happy with the way I was. I felt punished for eating and as a consequence have struggled with it my whole life. I am sick of it; I want a day where I don’t think ”I’m fat.”

We are a society convinced that losing weight will make us happier, confident and “pretty”; that by losing weight, we will have accomplished something. It is these messages which lead to eating disorders, low self-esteem and - ironically - obesity. Why are we comparing ourselves to other people? No matter how much weight you lose, you will NOT LOOK LIKE “THAT” GIRL! Accept who YOU are and be the healthiest YOU can be.

The more you want to lose weight, the more you think about food and in many cases the more you eat! I used to weigh nearly 180 pounds. I thought that if I lost weight,

then I would be happy. Well I weighed 110 and I was no happier; I still felt like the “fat girl.” I have realized that it was not my weight making me unhappy, but I became so enthralled with losing weight that I didn’t see that. People need to work on whats making them unhappy because thats usually the reason they are overweight or underweight. Otherwise, it isn’t rocket science- exercise and eat healthily. Of course, find what works for you and make it a part of your life. Enjoy it. It shouldn’t control your life; it should enable you to live your life to the fullest. An unhappy person finds it hard to treat their body well, an unhappy person will not be happy with their figure no matter what size or shape they are.More...

Why You Should Eat Alkalizing Foods

Tuesday 8 December 2009 @ 10:59 pm

By Anthony Gutierrez

Is food acidic or alkaline? It is hard to tell. For example, once lemons are digested they are basic or alkaline even though they are acidic to start with. Eating a significant amount of alkalizing foods is important to balance a raw food diet.

Spinach, kale, collards, mustard greens and broccoli, the first green leafy vegetables, are great alkalizing agents. Wild edible grasses are also alkalizing. Fresh herbs (e.g. parsley, cilantro, basil, garlic) as well as grasses (e.g. wheat, barley grass); Sprouts; Sea Vegetables (e.g. kelp, nori, dulse, spirulina, blue green algae ). Finally, medicinal mushrooms like shitake maitake and reishi are good to make the body more basic.

Balance is all about life. When speaking of body pH levels the universal truth is profound. The human body needs to stay at a certain pH level. To measure the levels of Ph you would use a scale from zero to 14, where zero is very acidic, 7 is neutral and 14 is very alkaline.

Does Drinking Coffee Aid Weight Loss?

Wednesday 2 December 2009 @ 9:16 pm

Drinking coffee for health and weight loss is probably the most popular and controversial drugs in the world. Some so called experts claim that caffeine increases your metabolic rate, making weight loss easier and faster.  Caffeine also promotes gains in short-term, high-intensity athletic performance. Caffeine decreases your perception of pain during exercise. This might explain why fitness competitors routinely down a cup of java right before exercise! Caffeine also improves mental alertness and reduces your perception of fatigue.

The coffee research, however, found that consumption of ground caffeinated coffee appeared to have an independent relationship with weight loss. The findings implied that the caffeine present in coffee may help people to decrease body weight.  But no studies show any indication that weight loss from large amounts of caffeine is permanent or significant. There is also no documented evidence that increasing caffeine intake by itself can have any effect on weight loss. In addition, some studies found that decaffeinated coffee may contribute to modest changes in weight. Does coffee help weight loss?

According to the scientists, older and younger men show a similar thermogenic response to caffeine ingestion, whereas older men show a smaller increase in fatty acid availability after a caffeine challenge. In this study, researchers enrolled  18,417 men and 39,740 women from 1986 to 1998. Caffeine intake was assessed repeatedly every 2-4 years. Weight change was calculated as the difference between the self-reported weight in 1986 and in 1998.More..

You gotta Love Brett Favre!

Monday 2 November 2009 @ 9:42 am

Okay….he did it again!  I was interested to see how the Green Bay fans treated Brett Favre on his first trip back to Lambeau Field.  I expected some boos, but I’m glad that he did well.  Deion Sanders wrapped things up best on the NFL channel.  Brett took the high road after the game in his press conference, but Deion interpreted what he was actually saying.  It was hilarious!  I recorded it I love it so much.  He said when Brett said, “I would have loved to have ridden Adrian Peterson’s back through this game….” he was really saying…”but I didn’t…I carried this team and threw for four touchdowns!”  When he said, “My offensive line did well”…..he was really saying….”you didn’t touch me, but your guy got killed!”   He said some other stuff that was really funny.  If you haven’t seen any of it on the NFL channel, you should check it out.  Great job, Brett!

The New College Football Season ‘09

Friday 4 September 2009 @ 3:23 pm

Well, I don’t know about you but I’m ready for some football.  The season started with a “bang” or a “punch” if you played in the Oregon / Boise State game.  There is no room for that type of behavior, and I must agree on Oregon’s decision.  However, the Boise State player should receive some disciplinary action as well.  He should get some disciplinary action for just being stupid…If you are going to make comments to the team you just upset after the game, KEEP YOUR HELMET ON!

I’m looking forward to the Alabama / Virginia Tech game.  I think the “Tide” will roll.  Maybe Alabama will have a quarterback who won’t “steal victory from the jaws of defeat”  the year.

I am also looking forward to our new South Alabama Jaguars.  Maybe we will have a team down here who can give Troy some competition.  My friend, Greg Gregory, is the offensive coordinator.  He left South Florida as the OC to coach with the JAGS.  I’ll be at the game tomorrow.

IT IS “ON” IN THE NFC…BRETT FAVRE IS BACK!

Tuesday 18 August 2009 @ 12:20 pm

I am anticipating some very good games this season.  First Michael Vick and now Brett Favre.  Like I said in my post back on May 6th, I felt like Brett would come back, and I think the Vikings are going to be much stronger because of it.  I did say that I thought he should go to training camp, but the Vikings don’t seem to care.  They know they need him so it looks like they are letting the training camp thing slide.  Bottom line….if they don’t care, it doesn’t matter.

As for Green Bay, I think they are in for it.  The way I see it, turn about is fair play.   The Packers did him wrong in my opinion, and I think they’ll pay for it this season.  If he plays well, the Vikings could actually win the whole thing.  I think they are already postured to go deep in the playoffs with him there.  Lookout NFC….this is going to be a wild ride this year.

Now they are saying that Brett Farve’s return has divided the Vikings’ locker room.  You can’t blame the other QBs for being pissed.  However, this is business and the players need to understand that.  Hopefully, this won’t mess them up this year.  If they win, no one will care.  If they win the Superbowl, the other QBs won’t care either.  However, for that to happen, a lot of people have to stay healthy.

For those who say, “I want my country back!”

Monday 17 August 2009 @ 12:41 pm

Okay….For all those out there who are saying, “I want my country back!”  Now what does that mean?  There are people out there saying this (primarily the Republican Party) all around the country.  I have to ask myself, “Where are they going with this?”

Where has the country gone?  What is different about the US today that is so much different than before?  There are some changes, but if you link the changes in the country to that comment, I can only come up with one reason why some people are saying that.  Use your imagination.  I understand that where you stand depends on where you sit, but I think we should stick with the issues.

If spending is your issue, talk about spending.  If economic recovery is your issue, talk about that.  If gun control is your concern, talk about gun control.  This talk about wanting your country back is getting traction for you in all the wrong places.  For those who are saying that…..that’s the very attitude that LOST you YOUR COUNTRY in the first place.
